The Robe Wine Region is situated on the coast between the townships of Robe and Beachport.
It is located within ‘The Limestone Coast’ area of South Australia, which also includes the prestigious Coonawarra, Padthaway, Wrattonbully and Mount Benson regions.
Robe traditionally has a defined history in fishing, agriculture and tourism. With the soil, geology and climatic conditions perfect for viticulture, the first vine plantings occurred in 1994, with subsequent developments now flourishing. About 770 hectares of land are now under vine in the Robe region.
Highly respected in discerning wine circles, the Robe Region’s cool climate red wines have enjoyed much acclaim for their distinct aromas, intense vibrant colours and richly developed mulberry and blackcurrant fruit flavours.
